How MYWIE’s inverted tree works: start from you, add relatives, photos and dates, and know each plan’s limits.

1. What the family tree is for

MYWIE’s tree is inverted: you are the root, in the present. You then add children, grandchildren, parents, spouses and other links.

It is not a public directory. Only your account sees and edits your members.

  • Generational view starting from your card.
  • Each member has a name, relationship, optional life dates, birth place, notes and photo.
  • Birthday and remembrance dates also feed the important-dates calendar.

Marketing may mention live collaboration. In the current code, you enter the cards. Email invite for a relative to join exists only on the experimental mywie3 environment.

2. Add, edit or remove a member

In My tree, “Add a member” opens the form. You attach the person to a parent already in the tree (you, by default).

  • Full name: required.
  • Relationship: parents, spouse, siblings, children, grandchildren, grandparents, step-parents, and more.
  • Birth and death dates: optional. Death cannot precede birth.
  • Birth place and notes: optional.
  • Photo: JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF, 10 MB max (50 MB if Zero-Knowledge encrypted in the browser).

Click a member to open, edit or delete their card. Deletion removes them from your tree.

3. Plans and limits

The tree is available on Essentiel. The cap is the number of members, not the type of link.

  • Essentiel (free): up to 20 members, 500 MB account storage.
  • Famille and Héritage: unlimited members (within storage).

If you reach 20 members on Essentiel, a banner offers Famille. Existing cards stay.

4. Invites and information requests

You may store a member’s email. That alone does not open a shared family account.

  • Email invite for a relative to join MYWIE: mywie3 only.
  • Information requests to complete a card: available depending on environment.
  • Zero-Knowledge: sensitive fields must be encrypted in the browser before save.

Do not promise a live shared tree until invite and sharing are actually enabled on that environment.

5. Privacy

Your members are not listed publicly. Hosting is in France.

  • At-rest encryption of sensitive data according to your account’s Zero-Knowledge level.
  • Oversized or rejected file types are not stored.
  • Only you can edit or delete your cards.
